Conservation

Definition
Measures taken to extend the life of cultural heritage while strengthening transmission of its significant heritage messages and values. In the domain of cultural property, the aim of conservation is to maintain the physical and cultural characteristics of the object to ensure that its value is not diminished and that it will outlive our limited time span.

Conservation 

Définition
Activité qui vise à prolonger la vie du patrimoine culturel tout en renforçant la transmission de ses messages et de ses valeurs propres. S'agissant des biens culturels, la finalité de la conservation est de sauvegarder les propriétés physiques et culturelles des objets qui sont considérés comme des biens culturels dans le but d'éviter qu'ils perdent de leur valeur, et pour faire en sorte qu'ils subsistent au-delà de la durée limitée d'une vie humaine.

Consiste en medidas diseñadas para prolongar la vida del patrimonio cultural y fortalecer, simultáneamente, la transmisión de sus mensajes y valores (ICCROM, 1998). En el dominio de la propiedad cultural, el objetivo de la conservación es preservar las características físicas y culturales de un objeto, asegurando que su valor no se vea reducido y se traspase íntegramente a futuras generaciones.
